Welcome to My Classroom & Professional Educator Website!
I have earned both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Georgia, a school well-known for their success in Mathematics Education and Educational Psychology. I graduated with my B.S.Ed. in Mathematics Education in December 2007 and my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology: Gifted and Creative Education in May 2019. My research focuses on qualitative inquiry and the experiences of gifted adolescent girls. I also champion creativity in education, following the legacy of Dr. E. Paul Torrance.
I have taught high school mathematics in the states of Georgia and North Carolina, including AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, PreCalculus Honors, and Algebra, and my most recent teaching position was teaching 5th-8th grade math at a private school in Cumming, Georgia.
I also tutor students in 9th-12th grade mathematics – particularly helping students prepare for the AP Calculus AB Exam. Tutoring is conducted via Skype, allowing students to receive the benefits of tutoring from the comfort of their home at a fraction of the cost.
Aside from being a classroom teacher, I am a 500 Hour Certified Professional Pranakriya Therapeutic Yoga Teacher. You can find more information at www.kateguthrie.com.
